A warm welcome to the
Isle of Wight
Centre
of the

Caravan and Motorhome Club

Here's looking forward to meeting new and old friends
at the great rallies planned for the coming year

Notes for this month:

  • The AGM is nearly upon us.  Those of you who are eligible to vote should have received email notification.  If you believe you are eligible (you must be registered with the IoW centre) but have not received notification please contact the centre secretary:  seciowcc@gmail.com.   Deadlines for committee nominations and motions are approaching, so please check your emails.

The Isle of Wight Centre

The Isle of Wight is situated off the South coast of England just across the Solent from Portsmouth

.  The island enjoys a mild climate and record sunshine hours and is often referred to deservedly, as the Sunshine Isle

.

Here you will find long, safe and award winning sandy beaches and for the walkers or cyclists a network across the island of tracks and bridle paths many of which go through areas designated as areas of outstanding natural beauty.  Add to this the abundance of the islands wild life including the famous red squirrels, this means you can have some really interesting and fun days out

.

The island is also world-famous for many discoveries of dinosaur remains, and there is a museum where many of these can be seen, but its not just the dinosaur remains; there’s an abundance of fossils to be found, mainly on the South coast of the island where the occasional land slip reveals more each year.

The island is populated by quaint villages, thatched cottages and good pubs and restaurants and so many great attractions it may be found hard to fit them all in. The ferry companies that serve the island normally carry free information booklets giving details of events and attractions that are available depending on the season

.

Rallying:
Why not join one of our rallies and meet with fellow club members who can provide you with a wealth of information as to what to see and do whilst you are on the island.

Our rallies vary from large commercial sites to small green field sites.  More details on our 'Rally info' page

If you are not sure you'd like rallying then there is an opportunity to try a rally at a number of UK locations as part of the CAMC 'Centre Festival Weekend' 30th Aug to 2nd Sept this year.  Details can be found on the CAMC web site or there is a leaflet you can view on our 'Latest News' page

Alternatively please feel free to contact any of our committee members, all of whom are experienced caravan or motor home owners and would be more than pleased to advise you

.  Contact details are on our 'Committee' page.

Joining the centre:
You don't have to be a Centre member to attend our rallies but you do have to be a CAMC member.  Centre members get our newslatter and local information so it's worthwhile registering - it's free!  You can register with our centre on the CAMC web site.

Privacy:  your personal information is used by our centre to administer and communicate with you about your membership of the Centre and about events and activities run by the Centre. The Centre will also use the personal data to enable you to take part in committee elections, including if you decide to stand for election yourself.  More details can be found here

We very much look forward to welcoming you
