The Isle of Wight Centre is one of more than 70 Centres that are listed in the Caravan and Motorhome Club Directory & Handbook. These are geographically based centres that are part of the Club. We are members of the South West Region (more details below).

If you are a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club you can join us at any Isle of Wight Centre rally, and will be made most welcome.

For information about CAMC centres and how to join us, look at the Caravan and Motorhome Club web site at https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/membership/local-centres

What do we do?

We organise a programme of local weekend rallies throughout the year. Rallies are simply a gathering of like minded caravan and motor home club members in a social and friendly environment, a chance perhaps to meet new friends and catch up with old ones, children are always welcome at these events.

Some entertainment is normally arranged, over a weekend, this can take the form of musical evening, BBQ, quiz, wine tasting or competitions etc, none of these events are compulsory to attend but are usually good social fun

Although many of the sites we visit are commercial caravan parks, some of the sites are informal and do not have toilet facilities and electric hook ups. For this reason your own sanitation is required. Water and chemical disposal points are always provided.

The Rally Marshals

These are friendly faces that will greet you upon your arrival at the rally location, they will have arranged the venue and any social activities. Please be sure to check in at the marshal's office and also advise them if this is your first rally, you will then be given a envelope which gives details of the weekends events.

The marshals will guide you to your pitch and show you where water and disposal point are, including hook ups if they are available.

If you fancy having a go at being a marsal, there is more information on the "Rally Info" page

Around 2 pm on the Sunday of a rally, there is a chance for the rally participants to gather for tea and coffee (and biscuits or cake if you're lucky), to hear the results of any quizzes raffle or competitions and announcements made of future rallies. This is also an opportunity to thank the rally marshals for all their work arranging the event.

So if you want to get more from your caravan or motor home, why not have a look at our rally programme and come along and join us, we are sure you will enjoy the experience

The South West Region

The Isle of Wight Centre is one of ten Centres that comprises the South West  Region.  Each  of  those  ten  Centres  has  two representatives that attend the Regional Council once every quarter. Our South West Region representatives this year are Jeff Johnson & David Lumley (see the 'Committee' page for contact details).

The aims of the Regional Council are as follows :-

  • To represent you, the members, by raising any points of view that you may have at the Club Council.
  • To  provide  a  forum  to  discuss  and  solve  local  problems  at regional level.

It is sometimes necessary to seek advice from the Exec. Committee or the staff at CAMC headquarters at East Grinstead. This means that every member of the Club can use the Regional  Council  to  access all levels of the Club’s management structure.

The Region's web page is:  http://www.southwestregioncc.org.uk/index.php.
